Is this a good start to me essay? Criticisms please?
Isolation is a prevalent theme throughout these texts, presenting itself in many forms from imbalance of the ’s to the solidarity of a person’s mind. However what is to be argued is whether isolation itself is detrimental, and necessarily has to come hand in hand with doom. PI in Life Of Pi uses his isolation to create an imaginary character to be a protector, and to carry the blame for disturbing acts he has to do for his own survival. Isolation in this situation is far from deleterious, it saves his life. However when compared to literary criticism itself isolation appears to be essential for a person to ratify their very existence. Literature when read has its meaning interpreted, its very form and purpose is dictated from a persons ysis. We as people have this in common, we cannot see ourselves truly from an unbiased perspective or perceive our temporal limits. Without interaction and reliance on others interpretations, we are isolated and without a known meaning or purpose. Hamlets madness supports the idea of isolation as a detrimental factor. The situation he has discovered requires a secrecy which forces him to debate by himself, as shown in his soliloquies. Edward, In Chesil Beach due to society keeping his desires an un-discussed taboo, like Hamlet, is forced to mull over the situation by himself, and by doing so cause him to make the wrong choice and lose love.
