Accutane....is it really that bad? Does it work?

I'm really considering about taking Accutane for my acne. I'm wondering if the side effect are really that bad? And if you know anyone that used it and it worked. I'm so tired of my acne and i dont want my face to look like my Aunts(Acne runs in my family blah lets just say Crater face) Help!!
