Warhammer 40k Chaos Space Marines?

I've just recently found interest in Warhammer 40k and Fantasy tabletop. I was originally going to field Tyranids but figured i'd save a "Swarm" army for larger scale battles in the future. I decided upon Chaos Space Marines. So far, my friend sold me a squad of Noise Marines, and I plan on ordering Abaddon for my HQ, a squad of Marines, and either a squad of Plague Marines or a Havoc Squad. For starting off, we will be playing 1500 pt battles. Any tips or advice on what would be wise in fielding next would be great. If it helps any, he intends on fielding an Eldar army.
